black hair weave
okay so im obviously black (thus the “african hair”)

so i dont relax my hair or anything. i usually wear a curly afro type thing and its awesome. heres my problem: i really want to dye my hair but i dont want the damage or even the risk of damage. i just wont dye my hair. so what im going to do is get weave/extensions. i want like an all over shade of purple or something so you can see why i dont want to dye it. lol

so after they corn row your hair back and weave the hair in and everything can you wash your hair with the weave in it?
or would i only be able to do this if i relax my hair (which i simply will not do under any circumstances)?

is there anyway to get around washing my hair with weave in it without a relaxer? i doubt that there is. ill probably have to get it redone when i wash it. i wash my hair like twice a week…**** is mad expensive to be getting done all the time like that lol

oh also where could i get extensions that match my hair type or at least look like any range of hair types that a black girl might have. i dont want to be walking around with asian hair or something lol

help! : \

a black hair shop probably. yet the gel they use to connect the weave might change your natural hair forever. good luck honey :)

You can definitely get a weave while you have natural hair. However, please don’t make the mistake of washing it yourself because you’ll end up loosening the braids and messing up the weave. Just go back to the person who did your weave and let them wash it for you.

Stay away from anything called “European straight”.

Also, bear in mind that natural hair stands up to hair coloring much better than straightened hair does. If you go to a professional place, it should come out fine. Or get a temporary hair color to see how it looks first. Good luck!

It’s really best to consult a professional beautician for this, ideally someone who is experienced in hair extensions and coloring. Get references if possible. If you get someone who is inexperienced or is not competent, your hair could be severely damaged. You’ll probably have to spend quite a bit of money but it will be worth it in the long run for better quality.
