black hair weave
okay so im obviously black (thus the “african hair”)

so i dont relax my hair or anything. i usually wear a curly afro type thing and its awesome. heres my problem: i really want to dye my hair but i dont want the damage or even the risk of damage. i just wont dye my hair. so what im going to do is get weave/extensions. i want like an all over shade of purple or something so you can see why i dont want to dye it. lol

so after they corn row your hair back and weave the hair in and everything can you wash your hair with the weave in it?
or would i only be able to do this if i relax my hair (which i simply will not do under any circumstances)?

is there anyway to get around washing my hair with weave in it without a relaxer? i doubt that there is. ill probably have to get it redone when i wash it. i wash my hair like twice a week…**** is mad expensive to be getting done all the time like that lol

oh also where could i get extensions that match my hair type or at least look like any range of hair types that a black girl might have. i dont want to be walking around with asian hair or something lol

help! : \

The best thing about a sew-in is that you CAN wash your hair with the weave in. You will NOT need a relaxer!. so YES you can wash it WITH OUT getting a relaxer!. And for the part about getting weave to match your hair color, yes. All you have to do is go to the beauty supply store and they will match it up for you

Hey I’ll try to answer all your questions with some other insights. I’ve gotten sew ins before and I’m currently transitioning to natural:

    DYING OPTIONS
    1. Hair CAN be dyed/bleached as long as it’s in good condition before hand but I can see why you wouldn’t want to chance it since your doing all over color like bleach/purple. Just be aware of the fact that weave doesn’t dye a lot of times. I tried to dye a weave purple once and it didn’t do anything. BECUASE sometimes it claims to be human hair but it’s mixed in with synthetic so if you want purple weave make sure it it human OR dyed already OR buy blond weave which should take a vivid color better than a darker color. Also make sure you wash hair well if you dye it yourself becuase dye may seep onto your real hair.

    SHAMPOOING
    2. Washing hair can be tricky but it has nothing to do with whether your hair is relaxed or natural. I didn’t to take care of my hair when it was under weave and I don’t recommend it. If hair gets wet from swimming, rain, or shower make sure your cornrows are completely DRY before going to sleep. Use a blow dryer if you have to becuase mold is bad. Another reason I don’t recommend attempting washing by yourself is teh horrible tangles weave gets if washed the wrong way. 3rd reason is becuase hair is really hard to get to buried under weave/especially if they put a mesh cap over the cornrows.
    WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
    1. Going back to salon to get hair washed professionally, they don’t have to redo weave to do this. 2. Use a dry shampoo 3. Wash it yourself, being aware of tangles and make sure dries completely before going to sleep 4. Forego washing for 2-3 months. It’s not that bad.

    HAIR OPTIONS
I think you can find kinky weave anywhere they sell hair I didn’t ever wear kinky weave becuase
    1. I was a still stuck in a mindset that my natural hair is ugly

    2. The curly hair I got never held the style very well but they did when I put mousse in them

    3. That texture wasn’t as readily available as straighter textures. Get curlier textures or Afro texture hair made for kinky twists. AFROPUFF is one brand. Curlier hair is better anyway becuase straight weave can look kind of fake since weave can’t lie next to the head and kinky hair makes this less noticeable. Also it probably holds up better than straight hair. Some of the striaght hair I got looked like a dead cat on my head by the end of the first month. lol

PS be careful of getting too many cornrows and sew in. After 2 years of getting weave one after the other I noticed my hair line was thinning.
