black hair weave
Kitty. asked:

If you have like shoulder length hair and you want extensions, how does that work? Do they corn roll your hair and weave on hair pieces?
I have no intentions to get a weave. It’s purely out of curiosity. I love my hair.

You should not have to cut your hair. You can get the weave sewn in or glued in. With sewn (which I think is the best option) they do cornrow your hair.
The ‘glue’ option is where your stylist will use a grayish looking hair ‘glue’ to place the track onto your scalp. Too me, it was hard and time consuming to remove them without taking some of your hair with it.
The only way I see a stylist cutting the hair would be if you are getting the weave shorter than your hair length, lots of dead ends. etc etc.

there are a few ways they put in hair extensions

    - glue a bunch it to little ponytails they make in a line
    - after cornrolling it they glue in a track
    - after cornrolling it they sew in a track

they would only cut your hair for styling purposes.
