sabrina asked:

Like, i don’t understand the process. I’ve tried reading about it online but it confused me. Weaves scare me, because on America’s Next Top Model everyone cries when they get weaves!

So what is it exactly? Is it the same as hair extensions??
And you wash them? lol sorry if this is stupid idk

Hair weaving is the science of addition of hair to the scalp by the weaving or braiding of human or synthetic hair. It is also called Hair Integration. The hair extension is woven to the root area of the client’s hair so that it grows naturally.

i watch america’s next top model too,
and i think they are the same as a hair extentions but they use glue instead of clips.

and im guessing that they cry because it hurts to get it taken off so they wouldnt wanna deal with it in the first place.
know what i mean or no.?
i might have confused you a little bit.
    lol, sorry. :)

    Create a video blog…instantly.

Hair weaves are a form of hair extensions. Hair weave can either enhance a hairstyle or give a completely different look.

Supplies typically used for creating hair weaves are:

Thick thread (preferably a color that matches the color of the hair) to attach the hair weft securely.
A long and/or curved needle, which could be a smaller upholstery needle.
Hair glue specifically made for hair weaves. The glue can be easily washed out using a special shampoo/conditioner that will remove the glue without taking the real hair out. A special glue remover may also be used.
Hair extensions. Depending on the thickness and the look desired, it’s best to get two. Some people can get away with just one to one-and-a-half bags. Depending on the weaving technique, the wearer can either use hair wefts or individual strands.
Other types of extensions that can be added to the hair include ponytails, or ponytail pieces.

Just as any wig or wigpiece, the colors for hair to be weaved can range from “realistic” colors, such as red, black, brown and blonde, to other colors such as pink, blue and green. How creative the wearer wants to be is up to him or her.

And yes my dear, it hurts! I’ve had a couple of girlfriends that had them done…
    hope that helps :)
unless needed, i suggest you dont get it!!

    Cheers

Extensions are anything added to the hair. A weave is just a different type of extension. It usually refers to the weaving of needle and thread to the extension weft to attach it securely to the hair.

They can very well hurt if done too tight (which is not healthy b/c it causes breakage). But these girls on ANTM cry because they have never had their hair braided.

Imagine a cornrow… the extension hair is sewed onto it. There are also different methods which used string, rubberbands and knots to create a base to sew on.
