I want to know how you basket weave hair with tracks into updos. I’m not talking about weaving baskets lol. I want to know like how do you place the tracks and like how to start them off.

First of all, you have to section off hair from the center of the neck going in a slant up to the back ear area. The size of the section will depend on how thick the person’s hair is. Do the same for the other side.
Second, gel the hair up into a ponytail. Be sure not to gel up the sections that have been left out. Let the person’s hair dry under a heated dryer.
Third, once the hair is dry, measure off the appropriate length of track hair to match the length of the section of hair that was left out. Make sure that the track hair does not extend past the top or bottom of the section. Apply the glue to the track (do not apply to the scalp). Apply pressure. To make sure that it is secure, lightly spritz the track and apply med-low heat to the track. Be careful not to burn the person’s scalp. Do this for the other side.
Fourth, comb the hair that was left out over the track hair. Apply oil sheen and spritz to mold. Make the desired amount of strips by using a flat iron (I prefer the marcel flat iron). Apply spritz to the strip of hair and flat iron the strip until it is semi-hard. For the basket weave to stay in place, heat will need to be reapplied to each strip before moving to the next. Do this for the other side. Now it is time to basket weave.
Fifth, the strips that are in the middle of the nape area, cross one over the other. Use a duck bill clip to temporarily secure the ends. Take the next strip closest to the nape, place it under the strip from the opposite side. Duck bill that strip. Continue doing these last two steps until the basket weave is complete. If working from one side to the other, be sure to apply tension so that the basket weave lies flat as possible. If working primarily from one side, be sure not to skip any strips. That will throw of the basket weave.
Once the basket weave is completed, there will be several loose ends on both sides of the middle region. Depending on how the top of the hair is to be styled, will determine how the loose ends are camouflaged. The loose ends can be hidden many different ways. The finished product should be a beautiful basket weave up do.
